Privacy Policy

Effective October 15, 2026 (private beta)

This is the governing version. The Chinese versions are translations.

This policy explains what Kiomi collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and how you can delete it. We've tried to keep it in plain English.

At a glance

Details are below. Where it matters legally, the full text controls.

What we save
New messages on the AI sites you turn on (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Grok), from after you connect your account: what you say and what the AI replies.
What it's for
Turning them into memories that get added to new chats. We don't sell it, use it for ads, or train models on it.
Who gets it
A cloud host stores it, an AI model provider turns it into memories, and a sign-in provider handles Google sign-in. An AI model provider also picks which memories to add.
How long
Diagnostics for 30 days. Everything else until you delete it (during the beta we may clear memories, with notice first).
How to delete
Use "Delete all memories" on this website. After you sign in again to confirm, it's deleted right away.

1Scope

This policy covers the Kiomi Chrome extension, this website and Kiomi's servers. Kiomi is in an invite-only private beta, so its features and this policy may change. When they do, we'll update the effective date above.

2What we collect

Account information

When you sign in with Google, we get your email address and a sign-in ID, which identify your account. Our sign-in provider also keeps the name and profile picture link that Google returns.

Chats

On the AI sites you turn on (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Grok), the extension saves new messages from after you connect your account: what you send and what the AI replies.

AI replies only help Kiomi understand the conversation. They're never saved as something you said.

Your AI site account and chat IDs

So one account's memories never end up in another account, the extension also sends the account you're signed in to on that AI site (like your ChatGPT email or the account Gemini shows), plus the IDs of chats, messages and projects.

Memories

The facts and preferences taken from your chats, and what each one was based on.

Memory feedback

When you tap 👍 or 👎 on a memory Kiomi added, we record which memory it was, your rating and the reason you picked, to improve which memories Kiomi adds. We don't record your chat. Deleting all your memories deletes this too.

The message you're sending

When you send a message on an AI site, the extension sends it to Kiomi's server to find related memories to add. Finding memories doesn't store the message, but it's still part of the chat, so it's saved like any other message.

Extension connection details

When each extension connected, when it was last used, and when it was disconnected. When you connect an extension, we also note your computer's operating system type (like Mac or Windows), only to tell your extensions apart on the account page.

Diagnostics (on by default, can be turned off)

Hourly totals of result codes, counts and timing, plus the platform, extension version, main browser version and a random install ID. If you send us feedback, the note you write (up to 200 characters) is sent too. Diagnostics never include your chats or web addresses.

Usage stats

How many times each account's chats were turned into memories each day, how much model usage that took, and the estimated cost, used to manage limits. Numbers only.

Invite requests

When you email us for an invite, your email address and message stay in our inbox and are only used to send you an invite.

Server logs

Server logs record the request path, result and timing. They don't record URL parameters, chats, memories or keys.

3What we don't collect

  • Messages from before you connected your account. We won't go back and save them later, either.
  • Chats where you turned off memory, and chats while Kiomi is paused.
  • Sites you haven't turned on. The extension only works on the AI sites you turn on and doesn't read other pages.
  • Passwords and payment information.

4How we use it

  • To turn chats into memories, and add the few related ones when you start a new chat.
  • To keep the service running and figure out what went wrong when something breaks.
  • To manage daily limits and costs.

We don't sell your data, use it for ads, or use it to train models.

5Who we share it with

These services handle your data. We only give them what they need to do their part.

ServiceWhat it doesWhat it receives
Cloud hosting and databaseRuns Kiomi's server and databaseAccounts, chats, memories, extension connection details, diagnostics and usage stats
Sign-in serviceGoogle sign-inThe email address, name and profile picture link Google returns
AI model providerTurns chats into memoriesPart of a chat (what you said and what the AI replied, usually no more than about 24,000 characters), and the topics of up to 12 existing memories
AI model providerDecides whether a chat is worth turning into memories, so chats with nothing to remember skip the step abovePart of a chat (the same text the step above would receive)
AI model providerPicks the memories most related to your messageThe message you're sending and up to 15 memory summaries
GoogleAccount sign-inThe account you pick on Google's sign-in page
Website analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)Counts visits to this site's home page and this page: how many, which site sent you, which country and what kind of deviceYour visit to these two pages: the page address, the referring site, browser and device type, and the country worked out from your network address. No cookies, and nothing from your account, chats or memories. The account and delete pages don't load it

These providers may store or process data outside your country. The AI model services we use handle requests under their commercial API terms, and wherever there's a setting for it, we've set it so they can't train models on your data.

6How long we keep it

  • Diagnostics: deleted automatically after 30 days.
  • Pending extension connection requests: expire if not confirmed within 10 minutes.
  • Chats, memories and other data: kept until you delete them. One beta exception: if testing requires it (for example, changing how memories are stored), we may clear memories. We'll tell you beforehand, and if you ask, we'll help you keep yours.
  • When you delete all memories, they're removed from the database right away. Copies in database backups are cleared within 30 days as backups rotate.
  • After you delete all memories, we keep: your account (email address and sign-in ID), your beta invite record, extension connection history, daily usage numbers, and the sign-in records at our sign-in provider. To delete these too, contact us.

8Google user data

Signing in with Google only gives Kiomi your email address. Kiomi doesn't read your Gmail, Google Drive or any other data in your Google account. If you turn on Gemini, the extension saves your Gemini chats the same way it does on other AI sites.

Kiomi’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

9Security

The website and extension only accept Google sign-in. Everything is sent over HTTPS. The extension uses its own separate connection key that web pages can't get to. Server logs don't record chats. Deleting all memories requires signing in again to confirm.

10Minors

Kiomi is only for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from minors, and if we find any, we'll delete it.

11Changes

This policy may change during the beta. We'll point out important changes on the website and in the extension, and update the effective date.
